My approach
I am based in Livingston, West Lothian and offer individual face to face Counselling for adults (18+ years).
My Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy focussed on the Person-Centred approach to counselling.
Since completing my Diploma I have continued to draw on this theory, the core of which offers a therapeutical relationship based on honesty, empathy and acceptance which means I do not tell you what to do, but believe that the answers to your questions are within you. My role is to create a working environment which facilitates you to discover the answers for yourself.
I strive in my practice to enable you to feel safe enough to talk about the issues that you want to bring to counselling. During our work together you will gain a clearer understanding of who you are and this increased awareness will enable you to decide what, if anything, you need to do.
I have worked with clients at different stages in their lives, from young adults trying to find a place and identity that feels right for them, to older individuals struggling with current or past life events. I value diversity and welcome enquiries from all different backgrounds. Every client is unique.
